Antoine D'Agata, b. 1961, Marseille, France.

D'Agata is an acclaimed French photographer and filmmaker known for his provocative and deeply personal approach to documentary photography. A member of Magnum Photos since 2004, d'Agata explores intense themes surrounding marginalization, addiction, sexuality, and existential struggle. His work, often characterized by raw, blurred, and visceral imagery, pushes the boundaries between personal narrative and objective reportage, immersing viewers in his dark, immersive journeys.

D'Agata studied photography at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York in the early 1990s, where he was influenced by influential figures such as Nan Goldin and Larry Clark. His notable photographic series include "Insomnia," "Stigma," and "Anticorps," all of which reflect his uncompromising exploration of human extremes.

His work has been exhibited globally, featured in prestigious institutions such as Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Foam Museum in Amsterdam, and Rencontres d’Arles photography festival. D’Agata has also published several impactful books, solidifying his reputation as a relentless observer and chronicler of life's harshest realities.
