The show Love Songs was a collective show included many other artists beyond Lin Zhipeng.
Lin Zhipeng (b. 1979, Guangdong, China), widely known by his pseudonym "223," is an influential Chinese photographer whose vibrant, provocative images capture contemporary youth culture in China. Taking his nickname from a character in Wong Kar-wai’s film "Chungking Express," Lin uses photography to explore intimacy, sexuality, identity, and urban life in a rapidly changing society.
Known for his bold, intimate, and often explicit portrayals, Lin's photographs present a nuanced portrait of his generation—embracing freedom, experimentation, and defiance of traditional norms. His raw, colorful aesthetic blends candid snapshots with sensual imagery, creating a poetic documentation of youthful rebellion, friendship, and desire.
Lin’s work has been featured internationally in numerous exhibitions and publications, including Foam Museum (Amsterdam), Les Rencontres d’Arles (France), and Three Shadows Photography Art Centre (Beijing). His books, including "Hidden Track," "No.223," and "Flowers and Fruits," have earned critical acclaim, securing his place as a leading voice in contemporary photography.
